There are many ways you can be involved in Candy Cane Corner between volunteering and hosting a donation drive to collect new items for the store. In order to find out if being involved is the right fit for you and/or your group, we have prepared a list of the most frequently asked questions below.

What is Candy Cane Corner?

Candy Cane Corner is a holiday store that The Road Home and Volunteers of America, Utah operate in which clients being served at each agency can have a dignified shopping experience to provide presents for their families during the holiday season.

What Covid-19 related precautions will be taken?

Everyone will be required to have their temperature checked before entering the shop, sanitizing upon entering and exiting is strongly encouraged, and wearing masks and gloves in accordance with CDC and local health department guidelines is required while at Candy Cane Corner. As always, our highest priority is the safety of our clients, volunteers, and staff.

When is Candy Cane Corner open?

Candy Cane Corner is open from December 7 – December 11 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Who can utilize Candy Cane Corner?

Low-income families and individuals who receive services at either The Road Home or Volunteers of America, Utah are eligible to receive a Candy Cane Corner voucher for 2020. Please confirm your eligibility for Candy Cane Corner with your case manager.

How can I volunteer?

Candy Cane Corner needs volunteers to help sort donations, stock the shelves and shop for clients.  Volunteer sign ups will be posted on November 1.

What can I donate?

All donations must be new and unwrapped items .Our top needs include gift cards in $10 increments to store including Wal-Mart, Smith’s, & Target, non-violent children’s toys, puzzles and art & craft supplies appropriate from teens, and wrapping paper.  

Monetary donations are also welcome to help fund the day to day operations of the program. Click here to help give the gift of joy to our clients in need.
